One Week To Go
After a very short weekend in London, we are finally on our way to France! Although it was just a short stopover, it turned out to be a nice little visit with a large serving of nostalgia.
And then there was the small matter of picking up the wedding bands! It was a lovely way to spend the last weekend before our wedding, connecting the dots of our past ten years together.
But now we’re en route to the Dordogne, and we’re so excited to see you all there!
As you start to pack and make your last minute preparations, here’s a few useful things that might be worth keeping in mind:
Travel Arrangements
If you are flying, stay aware of any ongoing strike action, particularly if you are flying out of Heathrow, Stanstead or with EasyJet.
If you are taking the train, delays are not likely on the TGV although you may want to keep a close watch in case the warm weather impacts services. If you are taking the Eurostar and then travelling across Paris, stay aware of any changes to your Eurostar train times - a higher demand during summer holidays can cause delays and you will need to make sure you have at least an hour to get across Paris.
Weather
France is in the midst of an extreme heatwave, with temperatures expected to peak this week around 40dc. Pack accordingly, and take plenty of water when travelling.
There is also a low chance of a thunderstorm, so it may be a good idea to bring a light wet-weather layer like a poncho or windbreaker.
So DO pack sunscreen, but DON’T panic: it is expected to get cooler as we get nearer to the wedding day.
Mosquito Repellent
It’s the countryside and it’s warm so coming across a few mosquitos is likely - bring some bug spray, especially for the kids.
And this will be our last post before the wedding, so thank you for following along. As we arrive in France, we’ll be trying to unwind, whilst also checking off any last minute errands, and then we’ll be seeing you in just a few short days.
Love,
J&Kx
